Instructions for Presenters
Presentation Formats
Students have the option of presenting a talk, poster, or creative work.
Oral Presentation
Oral presentations will be given during the concurrent sessions on Saturday morning and afternoon. A computer with internet access, a projector, and audio will be provided in each room. Please bring your presentation on a thumb drive or in cloud storage and upload your file to the computer in the room before the beginning of your session. Talks will be allotted 15 minutes each. A series of three talks will be followed by a 15-minute Q&A involving the three prior speakers.
Creative Work
Literary, artistic, or other creative work can be presented either during the poster session or the concurrent session. For example, a painting or sculpture might be on display during the poster session, whereas a poem or short play could be read or performed during the 15-minute concurrent sessions. Please indicate on your registration form preferences for the poster or oral sessions and any additional needs for presentation of creative work.
Poster
Posters will be presented during the one-hour poster session on Saturday. The recommended poster size is 36 inches x 48 inches in landscape orientation. Easels, foam board, and push pins will be provided to mount the posters.
If you don’t want to create an AR Poster, but would like to view them on your phone, please download the Adobe Aero app. You do not need to be logged into an account to view posters, you just need the app. Viewing will work the best if you have the app installed.

What is an AR Poster?
An Augmented Reality (AR) Poster is a Poster that can be viewed in 3D with the help of the Program Adobe Aero.
With an AR poster you can enhance your poster by:
Making your poster more interactive
Adding 3D Files, Gifs, or Sounds to your poster
Allowing your poster to be viewed in 3D anywhere in the world.
What do you need to make an AR poster
Making a poster in AR using Adobe Aero is actually not very difficult, it will probably take about 30-60 minutes to create if you have the PNGs Ready.
Calibrating and making minor changes to your poster can take some time though so do try and troubleshoot/test your poster to make sure it works.
Adobe Aero on a computer (to design your poster)
You’ll need an Adobe account but the app is free.
A Device that can view AR files. You must download “Adobe Aero” on the device for it to work
anything with LiDAR is the best
All Iphone Pros 12 or later and IPad Pros have LiDAR Scanners, to the best of my knowledge though, no Samsung devices make use of LiDAR.
PNG(s) of your poster
if you’re using a simple three panel poster design, get a PNG of each panel
Alternatively, get a PNG of each Text box and other images or media you need
Accent media
this can be images, sound, gifs, or 3D files.
Something that makes your research ‘pop’ or adds to your research
If you used 3D files this is actually the best way to display them, because people can walk around them as if they were a real 3D thing
Some sort of ‘anchor image’
can be an image or anchor that is already on your computer
You need to have a PNG of the image used, try and use something black and white or grayscale
A way to print and attach a QR code to the poster
Adobe Aero Gives you a QR code for sharing, this should actually work with most devices, but if it’s anchored it will be a bit weird. Devices with Adobe Aero On them that are not logged in ironically work the best for display. If you download Adobe Aero and just scan the QR code you can open a project in Aero without being logged in.
